Creating fun coffee bar design ideas in your home can make morning coffee time fell…
Be hospitable to one another without complaint. 1 Peter 4:9 Hummm, complain? Are you a hostess with the right frame of mind or do you find yourself fretting over just the idea of getting the house clean for company. Or maybe you always want to have just one particular group of friends over because it’s easy and you can “just relax and have fun”
Unless our relationship with the Lord is correct we will miss the whole point of having guest over and will not be effective in sharing true intentional Christian hospitality.
Sure we can have friends over for a cookout and have an enjoyable time but are we really ministrying to others or just feeding our own desire for pleasure? Now I’m not saying it can’t be fun to have people over for dinner, but our focus should always center around building up a fellow believer in Christ or pointing an unbeliever to Christ as we spend time together.
For a hostess to have this right frame of mind we need to take a hard look at our own walk with the Lord. If He is not our first love then we really become ineffective hostesses. Take some quiet time and read through the list below, looking up the references as you go. Ask yourself are any of these things drawing me away from my walk with the Lord and hence forth making me ineffective and self-centered when I serve the Lord through showing hospitality? Are any of these points drawing me away from my first love? Unless the Lord is our first love we can not truly show His love to those we have in our own home.
