Easy and Unique Slow Cooker Chex Mix Recipe

  • 1 cup Bugels
  • 1 cup Rye crisps
  • 1 cup Cheese puffs
  • 1 cup Cheez-Its
  • 1 cup Pretzels
  • 1 cup Corn chips
  • 2 cups Rice Chex
  • 2 cups Corn Chex
  • 2 cup Cheerios


  • 1 cups Butter salted or unsalted, your choice.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Celery salt
  • 1 teaspoon Seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon Yellow curry powder

  • Combine cereals, nuts, Cheez-Its, and pretzels into a 6 quart slow cooker. Toss to mix well.
  • Heat butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce to the melted butter, celery salt, seasoned salt, liquid smoke, and curry powder. Stir well and allow to simmer for 10 minutes to be sure all the seasonings have dissolved into the butter.
  • Whisk butter mixture in the pan as your pour it over your cereal mixture. It's best to pour 1/3 of the seasoning at a time, stirring to coat party mix in between.
  • Set your crockpot to low, then place a piece of paper towel on top of the cereal before putting the lid on. If you don't do this, you will get too much condensation built up on the lid and make your slow cooker version soggy.
  • Bake for 3 hours. Be sure to stir the mixture every 30 minutes during the first two hours, then every 15 minutes during the last hour of cooking time. Your total time baking might vary according to your brand of crockpot.

  • Be sure and use real butter, not margarine. It does make a big difference in the flavor.
  • Keep any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
  • Stir gently with wooden spoons, so you do not break the cereal pieces
  • Keep a paper towel laid on top of your crockpot Chex mix while baking to help reduce extra moisture on the lid.
