Notes
Same-Day Recipe: This is best assembled and baked the same day. The canned dough doesn't hold up well sitting raw in the refrigerator overnight.
Substitutions: No apple pie spice on hand? Mix ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, and ⅛ teaspoon allspice, plus a small dash of ginger or cloves. For the filling, blueberry, cherry, or peach pie filling can be swapped in for apple, same 21-ounce size.
Storage: Best fresh out of the oven. Leftovers keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
Reheating: Microwave for about 30 seconds, or 350°F oven for 5 to 7 minutes.
