First, I like to rinse the wings under cold water and remove any pin feathers that might have been left on after processing.
To ensure that the dry rub sticks to the chicken wings, pat the wings dry with paper towels before applying the rub. The moisture on the wings will help the rub adhere better.
Then, generously sprinkle and massage the dry rub onto the wings, ensuring they are evenly coated. This will help the flavors infuse the wings, resulting in a delicious taste.
It’s best to let the dry rub sit on the wings for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This allows the flavors to infuse the wings, resulting in a more flavorful dish. If time permits, you can also let the wings marinate in the dry rub in the refrigerator for a few hours or even overnight for a more intense flavor.
Bake
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Then, place the dry-rubbed wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack setting in the sheet pan.
Bake the wings for 45-50 minutes, flipping them halfway through until they are golden and crispy. This method ensures that the wings are cooked through and have a delicious, crispy texture.
Safety Note: The FDA recommends cooking chicken to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) as measured with a food thermometer.
Once baked, you could brush on your favorite BBQ sauce, buffalo sauce, before serving
How To Serve: I like to serve wings with carrot and celery sticks alongside your favorite dipping sauce, such as blue cheese or ranch dressing.
