Seven layer cookies are classic dessert bars made with a buttery graham cracker crust, coconut, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, sweetened condensed milk, and pecans. Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup sweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk canned
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

Prepare the Pan

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Spray a 13 x 9 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray, making sure to coat the interior sides well.

Make the Crust

  • In a medium size bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter.

  • Mix until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and gently press it into an even crust over the entire bottom.

Layer the Filling

  • Add the other ingredients in order: coconut, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips.

  • Slowly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top, covering all the chips.

  • Add the pecans to the top. Do NOT mix the layers.

Bake the Bars

  • Bake in the preheated oven until melted through, about 30 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  • While still warm, gently loosen the bars from the sides of the pan to keep them from sticking.
  • Cut into square bars.

Notes

Storage Instructions
  • Store the bars covered at room temperature for up to 3 days. But if your kitchen runs warm, I suggest moving the pan to the fridge.
  • To refrigerate, place the cut bars in a sealed container. They keep well for about a week.
