Ingredients Needed To Make This Recipe
Here are the ingredients that you need to gather to make this chocolate peanut butter pie recipe.
- Oreo cookies: The cookies will be used to make the pie crust. You’ll need about 24 Oreos to make 1-1/2 cups of cookie crumbs.
- Melted butter: To bind the cookie crumbs together, you’ll need to add 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter. You can melt the butter using the microwave or saucepan over the stovetop.
- Cream cheese: This provides a hint of tanginess to balance the flavor of the pie. Its rich texture is important in keeping the pie’s shape when sliced. For this recipe, you’ll need about eight ounces of softened cream cheese.
- Powdered sugar: Itās not just for sweetening. A cup of powdered sugar helps in thickening the filling.
- Creamy peanut butter: A cup of creamy peanut butter is enough to give that rich peanut flavor and smooth consistency to the pie.
- Vanilla extract: This ingredient adds that subtle aroma to the pie. You’ll need about a teaspoon of vanilla extract for this recipe.
- Heavy cream: This is another ingredient that makes the filling rich and creamy in texture. One cup of heavy cream is enough to whip a luxurious consistency.

How To Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie
This no-bake pie recipe is easy to make. Here are the steps in making the perfect chocolate peanut butter pie recipe!
Make The Pie Crust
- Crush the Oreo cookies in the food processor using the pulse button. Once crushed, add the melted butter and combine to make the crust.
Add The Crust Mixture Into The Pan
- Press the cookie crust mixture mixture into a 9-inch pie pan. Chill for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator or 15-20 minutes in the freezer. After pressing the crust into the pie pan, the butter is hard to wash off my hands, so I like to use kitchen gloves to keep this step neat.
Heading 3
- In a large bowl, add the softened cream cheese, creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to make the peanut butter mixture filling.
Beat The Mixture
- Using an electric hand mixer, beat the mixture on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
Whip The Heavy Cream
- Pour the heavy cream into a chilled bowl. With an electric hand mixer, whip the cream on medium-high speed until it forms stiff peaks.

Combine Two Mixtures
- Add the whipped heavy cream to the peanut butter mixture.
Fold Together
- Using a whisk, fold the heavy cream into the peanut butter mixture. Rotate the bowl and continue folding until the two mixtures are combined.
Fill and Chill
- Pour the filling into the chilled chocolate cookie pie crust. Spread the filling evenly, then chill in the fridge for at least four hours.
Decorate Pie After Chilled
- Melt peanut butter and chocolate in separate bowls using a microwave.1/4 cup peanut butter,1/4 chocolate chips
- Using a spoon, drizzle the melted chocolate and peanuts.
- Decorate the top with mini Reese’s cups and peanuts.1/2 cup Mini Reeseās cups.
Gina’s Tips For Recipe Success
- Slightly cool the melted butter before mixing it with the cookie crumbs to keep its firm texture.
- Before whipping the cream, chill everything, including the cream, bowl, and beaters.
- Soften the peanut butter and cream cheese to room temperature before mixing.
- Be sure to chill the pie before decorating.
- If the pie is served frozen, be sure to cut before freezing; it’s too hard to cut frozen.
Variation Ideas
- Instead of Oreo cookies, you use chocolate Graham crackers to make the crust.
- For that chocolatey kick, you can add eight ounces of melted chocolate into the filling. I recommend using semi-sweet chocolate because it only gives a slight hint of bitterness to balance the sweetness of the peanut butter.
- The best part about chocolate peanut butter pies is you can make your own topping. Choose from peanut butter cups like Reese’s pieces to chocolate ganache. To make a chocolate ganache, pour a cup of hot heavy cream over eight ounces of sweet chocolate chips and whip until well blended.
Storing Leftovers
You can store the chocolate peanut butter pie leftovers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Make sure to store the pie in an airtight container or cover it with aluminum foil or plastic wrap securely.
To extend its life up to 1-2 months, store the pie in an airtight container in individual pieces in the freezer. When it’s time to eat, you can serve the pie frozen. If you don’t want to eat a frozen pie, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes or thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
