Here’s Your Grocery List Ingredients

You only need 7 basic ingredients plus some garnishes to make this fluffy, tropical pie!

Ingredients for a dessert recipe are arranged on a light grey surface. They include a graham cracker crust, canned crushed pineapple, pecans, whipped topping, unsweetened coconut flakes, lemon, and evaporated milk in a can.
  • Crushed Pineapple: Adds a juicy, tropical flavor to the pie. Make sure to drain it well to avoid a soggy filling.
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: This provides the creamy sweetness that helps the pie to set. Use full-fat, not low-fat!
  • Lemon Juice: Fresh squeezed is best! It helps the filling to set.
  • Cool Whip: Gives the pie its fluffy, airy texture.
  • Graham Cracker Pie Crust: This is the crunchy, sweet base that beautifully contrasts the creamy texture of the filling.
  • Pecans: Add a slight crunch and nutty flavor.
  • Shredded Coconut: I use sweetened shredded coconut for this recipe, which you can find in the baking aisle!
  • Whole Pecans, Toasted Coconut, Maraschino Cherries, Whipped Cream: These are perfect for adding a decorative and flavorful touch to your pie. Choose any or all of them based on your preference or what you have on hand.

How to Make No-Bake Millionaire Pie

This no-bake pie is super easy to make and only has 10 minutes of prep time!

number one
  • Drain the crushed pineapple and set aside. This is a very important step. If you leave too much pineapple juice, the pie will not be set up correctly.

  • In a large bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk with fresh lemon juice. Whisk them until they are thick and slightly creamy.

number eight

When I make this millionaire pie, I often have a little leftover filling. I like to dice maraschino cherries, stir them into the mix, and pour it into parfait cups. Then, I let the cups set in the fridge for 4 hours to harden.

Gina’s Tips For Recipe Sucess

  • Make Ahead: Make the pie 1-2 days before serving, or make and freeze for up to 3 months. Let the pie thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
  • Cool Whip: It’s very important to thaw your Cool Whip overnight in the refrigerator. This will give it a smooth, creamy filling.

Variation Ideas

  • If you’re not a fan of pecans, you can substitute with walnuts, or cashews.
  • You can use a store-bought crust or make your own homemade graham cracker crust using graham cracker crumbs mixed with melted butter. For a fun twist, you could also make a shortbread cookie crust.
  • If you prefer a homemade touch, you can use whipped cream or a vegan whipped topping instead of the Cool Whip.

Storing Leftovers

Leftover millionaire pie can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months. According to the FDA, when serving no-bake desserts, do not leave them out for more than 2 hours.

✝️ Biblical Reflections Table Talk:

Millionaire Pie is a rich and indulgent dessert, full of sweetness and flavor. It reminds us of how we often think of wealth in terms of material riches, but the Bible teaches us that true riches come from our relationship with God. In Matthew 6:19-21, Jesus says, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” As you enjoy this delicious pie, take a moment to reflect on where your true treasure lies—whether in the sweetness of God’s love and grace or in the temporary things of this world. Consider how you can share these spiritual riches with others through your hospitality.
