A Sweet and Savory Treat Rolled Into One

Or the family loves soft pretzels. We usually serve them with my homemade yellow mustard, but sometimes, snack time requires a sweet dip. That’s why I created this savory yet wonderfully sweet dip.

There’s just something about hitting all those flavor profiles in one bite. The cream cheese and Dijon mustard add a little tang, while the honey and strawberry preserves add a subtle sweetness and beautiful color! Scoop it up with your favorite hard or soft pretzels, and you have a delightful blend of sweet, savory, and salty.

After making this sweet honey and mustard pretzel dip recipe to share with you, I had some helpers to eat the leftovers after I shot the photos. Grandkids are the best taste testers!

Here’s Your Grocery List Ingredients

Yep, it’s that easy to have the ingredients on hand to make this dip.

ingredients needed for pretzel dip
  • Cream Cheese: A creamy dip is impossible without cream cheese! Allow the cream cheese to soften before starting so it’s easier to combine with the remaining ingredients.
  • Dijon Mustard: Whole grain Dijon mustard adds a wonderful texture and a more pronounced mustard flavor that balances the sweetness of the rest of the ingredients.
  • Honey: Use your favorite honey here! It can be clover, wildflower, manuka, or any other kind you like. You’ll need a half cup for this recipe.
  • Strawberry Preserves: A couple of tablespoons of quality strawberry preserves lace this dip with a fruity sweetness that pairs beautifully with a salty pretzel.

Variation Ideas

This pretzel dip should be stored in the refrigerator to keep it fresh! The dip will thicken as it gets cold. For leftovers, store within two hours of serving in a shallow, airtight container for up to three days for the best quality and flavor.

Serving Suggestions

  • For an elegant presentation on special occasions, place pretzel dip in a glass serving dish and top with sliced strawberries.
  • Place a bowl of pretzel dip on a serving tray and surround it with different kinds of pretzels so everyone can mix and match.
  • Add it to a charcuterie board! I love a little sweet mixed in with my savory. As a palate cleanser, place a small bowl of pretzel dip on a charcuterie board filled with pretzels, crackers, fruit, meats, and cheeses.
