What Makes Masters Food So Iconic
What sets the Masters food apart is how simple and unchanged it has remained over the years. While most sporting events have moved toward expensive, over-the-top menus, the Masters’ food menu has stayed focused on classic, affordable concession stand favorites.
That simplicity is exactly what makes Masters tournament food so memorable. The menu is built around a few staples like pimento cheese sandwiches, egg salad, and the Georgia peach ice cream sandwich, all made with simple ingredients and served the same way year after year.
Augusta National has intentionally kept prices low as part of the patron experience. Even today, many of the classic Masters foods cost just a few dollars, which is almost unheard of at major events. It is not about flashy food. It is about tradition, consistency, and giving every guest the same familiar experience.

Why These Are Authentic Masters Copycat Recipes

Many Masters copycat recipes add extra ingredients that are not part of the original Augusta National recipes. True Masters food is known for its simplicity. The classic pimento cheese does not include sour cream, and the egg salad is made without celery or pickles. The Masters food menu has always focused on simple, high-quality ingredients prepared the same way year after year.
I know this because I grew up in Augusta, Georgia, and have been attending the Masters since I was a kid. Over the years, I started bringing home concession stand items to share with family, and I kept the original packaging to compare ingredients and make sure my copycat recipes stayed true.
What I have learned is this: when something works at Augusta National, they do not change it. That consistency is what makes Masters tournament food so special and why these recipes are created to reflect those same simple, classic flavors.

Hi Jean, I sent you an email to explain how a digital product bought on Etsy works.
We can’t seem to get out of the Masters cooking mode this year. We had Barbara Nicklaus’s Crab Casserole last night. WOW ! We were going to have it on Sunday after the tournament but realized it needed to be put in the fridge for 24 hours before baking.
Pat, was Barbra’s Crab Casserole in one of the Tea Time at the Masters cookbooks?
